COVENTRY, UK 29 October 2026
Zhejiang Geely Holdings is celebrating four decades since the business first started operations in November 1986 selling refrigerator components before branching into the automotive industry in 1997.

As part of the anniversary celebrations, Geely Auto UK has announced an anniversary customer offer with a free first service on every Starray EM-i and Geely EX2 registered by the end of November 2026.

Building on this, Geely Auto UK is also offering customers the chance to win a trip to China, including return flights and accommodation. Entry details and terms and conditions are available here.

Zhejiang Geely Holdings was founded in China in 1986 by Li Shufu, initially producing refrigerator components before entering the automotive industry in 1997. After launching its first car in 1998, Geely grew rapidly and gained international recognition with its 2010 acquisition of Volvo Cars. Today, Geely is a leading global automotive force, with a substantial portfolio of brands, including Geely Auto UK.

Since its UK commercial launch in October 2025, Geely Auto has recorded more than 15,000 registrations in its first full year and has recently signed its 100th retail site, remaining on track to have 100 sites operational by the end of 2026.

"Celebrating the 40th anniversary of our parent company is a proud moment for everyone connected with Geely Auto UK. From its beginnings in 1986, the company has grown into a global automotive leader driven by innovation, technology and a commitment to delivering exceptional value to customers," said Michael Yang, Managing Director at Geely Auto UK.

“The free first service and the chance to win a trip to China will not only reward our customers, but also help them connect with the heritage, innovation and global scale behind the Geely brand as we celebrate this important milestone together."
