Hangzhou, China, August 19, 2026 Geely Auto officially announced on Wednesday that its all-new hybrid D-segment SUV will begin its global rollout in late August, debuting first in the Egyptian market before steadily expanding into global markets. As Geely's first D-SUV global model, the vehicle is officially named Geely Monjaro EM-i. Positioned as "A Global Advanced Handling & Quality Benchmark among the D-SUV Hybrid Segment," it redefines quality boundaries of the global hybrid D-SUV segment with flagship-level product strength.
Building a Global Hybrid Flagship, Reinforcing Overseas Growth Momentum
As the global auto industry shifts toward new energy, rising overseas demand for premium NEVs creates significant opportunities for Chinese automakers going global.
Guided by its "One Geely" strategy, Geely accelerates its globalization layout with robust overseas growth. In H1 2026, Geely's overseas sales exceeded 474,000 units. July exports hit a new record of 106,663 units, up 202% year-on-year, marking seven consecutive months of both YoY and MoM growth. Building on this solid performance, Geely expands its global NEV product portfolio, and Geely Monjaro EM-i is a brand-new flagship tailored for worldwide markets.
Leveraging the GEA Evo Architecture, Setting a New Benchmark for Hybrid SUVs
Geely Monjaro EM-i is built on Geely's world-class new-energy-native GEA Evo architecture. Boasting flexible space expansion, multi-energy compatibility and comprehensive safety, it leverages the all-new GEEA 3.0 electronic and electrical architecture to boost intelligent experience and underpin its flagship capabilities.
Empowered by GEA Evo, Geely Monjaro EM-i delivers flagship-level breakthroughs in space, performance, intelligence and safety. The native architecture enables a class-above spacious and comfortable cabin. Its EM-i Super Hybrid system strikes an ideal balance between strong performance and ultra-low energy consumption.
As Geely's first overseas model equipped with the Xingrui Intelligent Large Language Model, it features the Flyme Auto In-Vehicle Infotainment System for a continuously evolvable smart cockpit. The active and passive safety system, paired with the Shendun Battery Safety System, delivers comprehensive travel safety protection. It also debuts the e-AWD Intelligent Electric AWD System on Geely's overseas models, delivering outstanding driving and handling quality.
Embracing the Spirit of the Peak, Empowering Global Mobility
The naming imagery of Monjaro EM-i draws inspiration from Africa's highest peak. Rising above the equatorial landscape, its pure snow-capped summit stands majestically, where grandeur and purity, power and restraint coexist in harmony. Rooted in the spirit of "Peak Within. Drive Beyond.", Geely Monjaro EM-i captures an ethos of ambition with composure, interpreting the essence of a strong character.
Targeting global markets, Geely Monjaro EM-i brings mature product capabilities to the world stage. With a steady yet progressive approach, it will continue pushing boundaries in technology and market reach, bringing intelligent, green, premium mobility experiences to users worldwide.
