Geely Auto UK plugs into Octopus EV to power its UK launch

  • Octopus EV announced as first lease partner for Geely Auto cars in the UK
  • Geely Auto customers to get access to Octopus home and public charging solutions
  • News comes as Geely prepares to imminently launch in the UK

London, 21st October 2025 - Geely Auto UK (‘Geely’) is teaming up with Octopus Electric Vehicles (‘Octopus EV’) to put some serious spark into its UK launch. The partnership means Geely drivers will have access to Octopus’ full suite of EV magic – from leasing the car to home or highway charging.

Drivers can get behind the wheel of the all-electric Geely EX5 through Octopus Electric Vehicles’ leasing offers. Octopus’ salary sacrifice scheme saves drivers up to 40% compared to traditional car ownership, with everything from insurance and servicing to charging included.

Geely customers will also get the full Octopus experience – starting with Intelligent Octopus Go, the UK’s most popular EV tariff. It automatically charges your car when the grid is both utilising renewable power and at its cheapest, helping drivers save around £450 a year compared* to a standard tariff (and more than £700 versus petrol).

Out and about? Drivers can plug into Octopus Electroverse – the one-tap app that unlocks over a million public EV chargers across more than 40 countries.

This comes as Geely gears up for its UK debut with the all-electric Geely EX5 – a roomy, family-friendly SUV offering up to 267 miles of range on a full charge**, ultra-fast charging (30-80% in just 20 minutes***), as well as luxuries such as heated and ventilated massage seats.

Over the long term, Geely and Octopus are committed to explore possibilities to integrate Geely's advanced technologies with the Octopus green energy service ecosystem.

Oliver Boots, Chief Commercial Officer at Octopus Electric Vehicles, commented: “Switching to electric should feel exciting, not complicated. By combining Geely’s fresh take on EVs with our smart charging tech, home installs, and flexible tariffs, we’re making the move to electric driving simple and affordable. We’re buzzing to be powering up with Geely as they hit the ground running in the UK.”

“With Octopus being one of the largest renewable energy suppliers in the UK, our working partnership demonstrates that we are not just coming to the UK to sell and service cars,” said Michael Yang, General Manager of Geely Auto UK. “By signing this agreement, both Geely Auto UK and Octopus are committing to provide better and more complete solutions for new energy vehicle ownership and usage.”

With Geely’s UK launch just around the corner and Octopus’ all-in-one charging ecosystem powering the journey, British drivers can expect an easier, more renewable way to get behind the wheel of their next EV.
