Geely Auto Officially Opens First UK Dealership with Glyn Hopkin in Chelmsford

Chelmsford, United Kingdom, 27 October 2025 – Geely Auto, one of the world’s fastest-growing and most innovative automotive groups, has celebrated the official opening of its first UK dealership, Glyn Hopkin in Chelmsford, Essex, bringing the electric Geely EX5 to the showroom floor just days after the brand’s UK debut.

And within hours of the official opening, the team had completed the first retail sale of the electric Geely EX5 to Sean and Veronica Currie from Acton, London who driven to Chelmsford especially to purchase the car.

The new Glyn Hopkin Chelmsford facility is the first of 50 planned franchised Geely Auto UK dealers opening across the country by the end of the year, reflecting substantial customer demand since the brand’s launch event in London last week.

With a comprehensive next-generation retail environment, customers in Chelmsford and across Essex can experience Geely’s signature electric SUV, take test drives, and access class-leading EV care and aftersales support.

Geely Auto UK is offering its own Geely EV Grant until the end of 2025; a discount funded by Geely Auto UK applied to the recommended on-the-road price.  The amount of the Geely EV Grant varies depending on the trim, with the Geely EX5 SE benefitting from £2,300, the Geely EX5 Pro £3,200 and the top-spec Geely EX5 Max £3,750.
