PARIS, FRANCE — October 12, 2026 — The new Monjaro EM-i made its European premiere today at the 2026 Paris Motor Show, as Geely Auto showcased the model to European audiences for the first time. The flagship plug-in hybrid SUV combines performance, efficiency, handling, safety, and intelligent comfort in one comprehensive affordable package.

Carrying the theme ‘Performance That Goes Beyond’, the all-new Monjaro EM-i plug-in hybrid is positioned around a broader definition of performance. Rather than focusing solely on power figures, Geely Auto has developed the flagship SUV to deliver confidence across acceleration, highway driving, challenging roads, long-distance travel and everyday family use, ideal for the advanced mainstream customer who wants to go a step further.

Power That Goes Beyond
At the heart of Monjaro EM-i is Geely Auto’s EM-i Super Hybrid system, combining a 1.5T high-efficiency dedicated plug-in hybrid engine with intelligent energy management. For drivers, the objective is straightforward: deliver sustained performance when it matters while maintaining efficient use of fuel and electrical energy.

An all-wheel drive version of the Monjaro EM-i will be available, adopting an Intelligent Electric AWD System (e-AWD) that uses millisecond-level response to distribute power according to driving conditions. During acceleration, highway overtaking and long uphill climbs, the system is designed to provide sustained power while intelligently managing battery preservation, thermal performance and regenerative breaking.

The result is a hybrid system engineered not only for peak performance, but for performance that can be maintained over the course of a journey.

Handling That Goes Beyond
For Monjaro EM-i, Geely Auto has placed equal emphasis on the way the vehicle responds to the road. Built on the GEA Evo architecture, the Monjaro EM-i supports front- and rear-axle decoupling and torque vectoring, providing the foundation for its intelligent all-wheel-drive system, with faster data transmission, high safety and multiple powertrains.

Available on the AWD version, a Continuous Damping Control (CCD) Suspension System responds in as little as 20 milliseconds, continuously adapting damping characteristics to road conditions. Drivers can select between Comfort, Standard and Sport suspension settings, while there are four different driving modes in the standard version, pure, hybrid, power and snow whilst the AWD version adds two extra driving modes – sand and off-road.

The objective of engineering is a balanced driving character: stability at highway speeds, confidence through continuous corners, controlled responses on challenging surfaces and a comfortable ride over long distances.

Confidence That Goes Beyond
The Monjaro EM-i's approach to performance extends into active and passive safety. The SUV combines a high-strength body structure with seven airbags, Geely’s Battery Safety System and a comprehensive suite of driver-assistance technologies. The vehicle offers 13 Level 2 active-safety features, nine driving comfort assistance functions and a 360° camera with transparent chassis view, designed to provide drivers with greater awareness around and beneath the vehicle.

The vehicle is prepared for a 5-star Euro NCAP testing result. Geely Auto has also subjected the vehicle to 21 full-scenario extreme-condition safety tests, while the hybrid architecture provides an additional layer of system redundancy, with the engine and electric motor capable of serving as mutual sources of propulsion. Together, these technologies are designed to provide confidence across everyday driving as well as more demanding conditions, including wet roads, high-speed travel and challenging terrain.

Comfort That Goes Beyond Space
Inside, Monjaro EM-i combines flagship dimensions with a focus on what Geely Auto calls ‘Intelligent Comfort’; using technology not simply as a collection of features, but as a means of making every journey easier and more relaxing.

Measuring approximately 4.8m in length with a 2.845m wheelbase, Monjaro EM-i offers up to 130 mm of second-row knee room.

Its luggage compartment provides 633 litres of capacity, expanding to 1,532 litres, while a maximum longitudinal storage length of 2.8 metres and 34 storage compartments add everyday practicality.

The seating system features 11-layer composite seats, with optional massage function offering eight massage points, six massage modes and three intensity levels. Front-seat heating and optional ventilation further support long-distance comfort.

Cabin refinement has received equal attention. Double-pane laminated front windows, acoustic materials covering approximately 89% of the cabin and 23 airtightness optimizations contribute to reduced road and wind noise, while Geely Auto reports a 45% reduction in tire noise.

An Intelligent Flagship Cabin
The Monjaro EM-i cockpit combines physical comfort with a connected digital environment. A 15.4-inch center display, 12.3-inch instrument cluster and an optional 25.6-inch Head-Up Display place key information within the driver’s field of view. 

The Flyme Auto in-vehicle infotainment system supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while the optional Flyme Sound audio system combines 16 speakers with a 1,000-watt amplifier and 7.1.2 immersive surround sound.

Voice recognition supports 18 languages across four audio zones, with control of up to 600 functions.

The result is a cabin designed around a simple principle: technology should reduce the number of things the driver has to think about, rather than add to them.

The Monjaro name is inspired by Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak, reflecting a philosophy built around the balance of power and restraint, ambition and composure. Its EM-i Super Hybrid powertrain applies the same principle to electrified driving, intelligently balancing performance and efficiency to make power delivery more responsive while reducing the effort associated with long journeys.
